Architecture

An adventure

I love architecture and appreciate any opportunity to engage with good design - this extends to understanding the planning of a city or the decisions behind a product that just works well. Architecture is another facet of design I love, not only for aesthetics but for functionality and practicality.

In 2014 my family we're highly fortunate in having a rare opportunity to acquire a plot of land and from the start I held many different ideas, having gathered examples of design I respected.

Working with the architect - Martin Williams - to create a functional multi-use set of spaces. The key was to achieve large amounts of natural light to flood each room, while maintaining privacy. 

I learned how to use SketchUp, a free software to model my ideas and communicate design concepts effectively. 

After iterative collaboration, the designs were finalised and the build began. The result is a fantastic eco-home in greater London that feels like you're surrounded by greenery and nature.
